The petroleum industry, also known as the oil industry or the oil patch, includes the global processes of exploration, extraction, refining, transporting and marketing of petroleum products. The largest volume products of the industry are fuel oil and gasoline (petrol). Petroleum (oil) is also the raw material for many chemical products, including pharmaceuticals, solvents, fertilizers, pesticides, synthetic fragrances, and plastics. The extreme monetary value of oil and its products has led to it being known as "black gold". The industry is usually divided into three major components: upstream, midstream, and downstream.

There is a great push from Indian government on developing the power sector to take electricity to the remotest area of the country. SWOP is looking to partner with companies who are working for the power sector and helping India light its remote location.

SWOP shall soon make their presence in wind energy through complex engineering feat to provide mechanical power providing a significant reduction in effect on the environment.

Solar being alternate source of energy, SWOP shall provide high quality production for the conversion of sunlight into energy using photovoltaics, indirectly using concentrated solar power, or a combination.
